NEMpreg.FR6541 is a state-of-the-art fire-retardant prepreg designed specifically for use in public transport applications.

The increasing requirements in safety, energy efficiency and production performance in public transport are addressed by NEMpreg.FR6541, the latest fire-retardant epoxy prepreg developed by New Era Materials specifically for railway applications.

NEMpreg.FR6541 is certified as meeting the highest HL3 classification requirements according to EN 45545-2, ensuring maximum fire safety performance. Simultaneously, the material has a short curing cycle of just 30 minutes at 120°C. This results in higher process efficiency, reduced production cycle times and lower energy consumption.

In what ways are composites beneficial for the railway industry?

In order to meet the requirements of modern railway systems, it is necessary to use materials that are faster, lighter and more functional. The use of composite materials allows rail vehicle manufacturers to achieve substantial benefits, including significant structural weight reduction, lower energy consumption, and greater design freedom in the development of railway components.
