NEMpreg.LT6540 is an epoxy resin-based prepreg dedicated to the manufacture of composite parts at low crosslinking temperatures, from 70⁰C to 100⁰C. The ease of placement in the mould, optimum viscosity (tack) and absence of volatile substances make this product user-friendly and dedicated to many applications. Prepreg can be crosslinked in both autoclave and non-autoclave (OOA) processes.

This prepreg can be used to produce thick composite structures, which we have successfully used in the preparation of hulls and boat and yacht components for the marine industry. Suitable mechanical properties using carbon reinforcements have made it possible to reduce the weight of hulls, asn as a result increase the functionality of vessels. The high surface quality, achieved even in OOA processes, made it possible to reduce additional surface preparation operations before applying finishing layers (e.g. painting).

Low water absorption and resistance to most chemicals guarantees the protection of the composite structure, even in the case of damage to the protective layer. In addition, due to the high adhesion of NEMpreg.LT6540 to most common engineering materials (e.g. metals, plastics, wood), it is possible to integrate functional/utility elements already at the manufacturing stage of the composite structure. The aspects presented also demonstrate the possibility of using this material in other applications where the quality of the composite material plays a vital role.
